We asked, "Why does your business call Elgin home?"
    They answered,

  • Newhaven-Display.jpg
  • Newhaven Display moved to Elgin in 2006, built our new Headquarters in 2014 and are now undergoing a 2019 expansion to triple the size of our facility.  Due to its ideal location, Elgin offers an array of benefits to our business such as a large and diverse employment pool, direct access to major interstates, airports, colleges and local hospitals. Dealing with a global market, our customers and suppliers visiting Newhaven can easily find us from O’Hare.  We are happy and proud to employ the majority of our employees within Elgin and its neighboring communities.

  • Rieke Office Ineriors
  • Rieke Office Interiors has been in Elgin for over 25 years, and in our current building on Fox Lane since 2005.  The exposure to I-90 with our LED sign has increased our business significantly.  Elgin is a great place to do business for many reasons: good local government, proximity to highways, centrally located in the suburbs/state/country, proficient workforce, and good tax structure to name a few.

  • Our firm was founded in Elgin fifty years ago, and over this time the Elgin area has become an economic powerhouse. A forward-thinking government, great infrastructure, close distance to major expressways, and a diverse and plentiful workforce are the major reasons we have continued our commitment to stay and thrive in the City of Elgin.

  • Why does your business call Elgin home?

  • The Elgin area has a lot going for it.  It sits in the heart of a large population base, with many great schools and programs that provide an excellent training ground for our workforce, with a great sense of community pride.  Its proximity to O'Hare Airport and several major interstates provides for easy shipment of inbound and outbound products, as well as a nice central location within the United States.   There are endless activities, programs, and entertainment in the community as well as in the greater Chicago area, which makes it a great place to live and work.

  • One of the unique resources that Elgin has available to potential users, tenant or landlords is the EDG.  The EDG is very helpful and very proactive – one of the reasons we chose the Elgin location. Some of the other key benefits include a developing downtown, amenities and a good workforce. Additionally, the future expansion of the Elgin-O’Hare Expressway positions Elgin for quick travel to the O’Hare market, making it that much more attractive for businesses.

  • There were several reasons for choosing Elgin for the home of our new production facility, in the end it came down to people. After our first meetings with the team at Intersect Illinois, who ultimately introduced us to the Mayor of Elgin and the Elgin Development Group, we knew this was the right place based on their commitment to building their community and economy by providing all the support required to establish a solid business foundation. From the college programs to the highly skilled workforce they produce along with good tax incentives and the proximity to major shipping routes. Choosing Elgin was an easy decision for us here at Faber-Castell Cosmetics.

  • Elgin is a very business-friendly municipality with a clear and consistent vision for land uses and future development.  City leaders also understand the importance of streamlining the approval process for new projects.  This produces an easier and more efficient experience for users and developers working to grow our community.  We enjoy having a proactive and responsive partnership with the City of Elgin and Elgin Development Group as we work together to best position the area for the future.

  • “Tony, Bob and the EDG Team are a phenomenal partner to the State of Illinois Department of Commerce. We turn to them and work closely together on Elgin business retention and expansion projects – as they provide real-time solutions for companies on workforce/training and site selection. EDG has an extraordinary ability in convening all local stakeholders to ensure projects come together smoothly and quickly, ultimately allowing our clients to come to market faster”
