    3/12    Magical Strings of Youth        3 pm
    Violinists from preschool to high school who study at the Betty Haag Academy of Music will perform classical music of Bach, Mozart and Vivaldi.     
     
    3/26    Elgin Master Chorale 2 pm
    A cultural cornerstone of Elgin and the Fox Valley, the Elgin Master Chorale will perform selections from “The Ordering of Moses” by noted composer Robert Nathaniel Dett. This sweeping oratorio premiered in 1937.
     
    4/16    Hollis Prize Winner’s Recital 2 pm
    Millikin University’s School of Music is pleased to present the 2023 Hollis Prize Winner’s Recital.
     
    Discover Composers Florence Price and Amy Beach
    Discover the rich musical legacy of these composers at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, March 6 in the Meadows Community Rooms. They composed piano music, chamber works and symphonies. Dr. Elinor Olin will lead a discussion about the composers. She received her Ph.D. in Music History from Northwestern University. The founder of Opera Immersion Seminars, she has led in-depth discussion forums at the Santa Fe Opera and Lyric Opera of Chicago since 2014. Presented by Chamber Music on the Fox.
     
    The Music Salon with Jim Kendros 
    Acclaimed composer and music researcher Jim Kendros will give a dynamic and highly informative presentation on some of the great composers and their music at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21 in the Meadows Community Rooms.
     
    Elgin Symphony Orchestra Listeners Club
    This lecture/discussion series meets prior to the ESO’s Classics Masterworks series and will broaden your understanding of the music to be performed that week. The next meeting will be held at noon on Wednesday, March 29 in the Meadows Community Rooms.
