The Village of South Elgin is seeking a highly responsible, skilled candidate for the full-time position of Executive Assistant in the Office of Administration. The Executive Assistant position oversees the day-to-day operation of the Office of Administration, assisting the Village Administrator with legal and technical administrative duties of the office. The position performs key support functions to the Village President, Village Board of Trustees and Village Clerk on behalf of the Administrator and the Village as a whole. This position prepares the bi-monthly Board Packet, provides key staff support to the Liquor Commission, assists with the creation of the annual budget, and maintains the official public record for the Village. The successful candidate must possess strong critical thinking and problem solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and sound technical skills to operate the variety of software packages of the Village including BoardDocs, New World ERP, and Microsoft Office.
Qualified applicants must have an Associate’s degree (A.S./A.A.) from an accredited college or university majoring in business management, political science, paralegal studies or a closely related field, three to five years of related experience or training, and a valid Illinois State Driver’s License. Any equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
Normal work hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. This is an exempt position, with an occasional need to work evenings or weekends. The Village offers an excellent compensation and benefit package with a starting salary of $33.06 per hour.
