Elgin Area Chamber introduces CEO Unplugged - On Location! The first Elgin Area Chamber CEO Unplugged - On Location luncheon will feature Dr. Mansour Razminia, a cardiologist and director of the Electrophysiology Procedure (EP) Lab at Amita Saint Joseph Hospital in Elgin. He is deploying a new state of the art procedure in fluoroless catheter ablation of cardiac arrhythmias. The “On Location” presentation will be held on Tuesday, April 16, at Amita Saint Joseph Hospital, 77 Airlite Street, Elgin, in the St. Luke’s Room on the main floor at 11:30am to 12:30pm. Questions and networking to follow. Tickets are $25 in advance. Lunch will be provided. Reservations can be made at ElginChamber.com or call the Chamber office at 847-741-5660. “We are one of the very few hospitals in the nation which performs catheter ablation of cardiac arrhythmias in such an entirely radiation free environment,” said Dr. Razmania, who is mentoring many of his peers globally in the fluoroless technique. He is proud to note that his patients and the medical staff are never exposed to any radiation during the EP procedures. A leader in this procedure, Dr. Razmania has been working in the field of cardiac electrophysiology since 2003. In July of 2010 he performed his first entirely fluoroless catheter ablation and has since developed and refined this technique. Over the past 9 years, he has performed over 2500 consecutive fluoroless catheter ablations. Dr. Razmania has disseminated his views on the fluoroless technique’s potential for enhanced safety through authoring several publications and delivering seminars on this topic locally, nationally, and internationally. He is the editor of a new book titled “ Fluoroscopy Reduction Techniques for Catheter Ablation of CardiacArrhythmias”, which will be available in May 2019. “The new CEO Unplugged On Location event will give Chamber members an opportunity to hear dynamic leaders speak about their careers in their own environment for added engagement and knowledge,” said Carol Gieske, Chamber president. “We have extraordinary talent in our own community and are happy to have the opportunity to bring it to the community’s attention.” Your business connections start here with the Elgin Area Chamber of Commerce. This CEO Unplugged - On Location luncheon gives you the opportunity to learn what makes this CEO successful as a leader in his industry. The CEO Unplugged - On Location luncheon series is led by members of the Elgin Area Chamber special events committee: chair Pat Szpekowski, PR Strategies & Communications; Jennifer Boyle; Yvonne Irving, KCT Credit Union; Cate Osterholz, Amita Saint Joseph Hospital; Tena Robotham, Judson University, Michael Storey, Beckatt Solutions; and Carol Gieske, president, Elgin Area Chamber. ... read more

Saturday, April 27 National Prescription Drug Take Back Day Every day, more than 90 Americans die after overdosing on opioids. As the prescription opioid epidemic continues to worsen, Northwestern Medicine and Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago are coming together with the Drug Enforcement Administration to host collection sites for National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. The event aims to provide a safe, convenient and responsible way to dispose of unused opioids and other prescription medications. Unused medications thrown in the trash can be retrieved and abused, or illegally sold. If they are flushed, they can contaminate the water supply. Proper disposal of unused drugs saves lives and protects the environment. Please note, sharps and liquids will not be accepted, and Take Back Day is for community members, not for commercial organizations. Could you use a part-time sales force to grow your business? Interested in getting more leads? How about talking with business owners/managers who have been there and can offer their advice? If so, then EARN is for you! EARN, the Elgin Area Referral Network, is a members-only networking group where you can grow your business through networking. EARN groups are composed of non-competing businesses that get together regularly to generate new business for fellow members through a system of referrals and leads. By meeting frequently, the businesses become well acquainted and build trust among the members. In time, leads are referred, and there is a greater opportunity for sales to be generated. Members also increase their visibility, their knowledge of the community, and their general knowledge of business. Members of our EARN networking groups attend the scheduled referral meetings, provide referrals and leads, and report results. Currently, the Chamber's four EARN groups have a limited number of openings. Each networking group offers a different operating style, from casual to highly structured. At our meetings, the agenda includes *Networking/Social time *Introductions & business descriptions *Pass Leads *Craft Talk by a member *Chamber Time This EARN Too networking group meets every other Monday from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. You'll share great conversation about business through the Chamber's EARN groups! If you want to grow your business by joining this EARN group, or any of our others, or for more information, please contact Carol Gieske at 847-741-5660 or cgieske@elginchamber.com ... read more
